riots in uganda

the ongoing riots in uganda called for another life. in the w2w protest last thursday a two year old boy was deadly shot by the antiriotpolice.
besigye still is in prison, and still you can see a lot of police and military in the streets. both of them are heavy armed, we saw a military corps in kampala last friday with machinepistols and -guns. it is forbidden to take pictures of the police or military (altough i tried, but i was to slow). but on this blog you can find very good pics: http://echwaluphotography.wordpress.com/
it leaves me with a queasy feeling to visit or pass through the same places where days before people where killed. i try to find as much informations about the riots as i can, i read a lot of newspaper and i could find some really good ones. following the "east african" the ICC (international criminal court, internationaler strafgerichtshof, Den Haag) is now monitoring the situation. due to that, the police changed its strategy, away from the violence we saw the last two weeks. the coverment doesn`t want to cause any more damage on its image (the last meeting of the parties of the ICC was in kampala). hopefully that will quiet the violence.
